In Your Arms
"Sunnie?" Jhai put his bag of electronic patient screens down on the kitchen table and sighed as he opened the refrigerator and took out a bottle of juice. His young lover wasn't going to be happy that he had brought work home. Jhai had promised Sunnie that they would go out to dinner with some of his friends, but Jhai knew that fixing the mistakes of a ham handed intern was going to take hours and he couldn't trust it to anyone else. The patients that those screens pertained to were all in critical phases of treatment. Getting any of the information wrong at this point would be disastrous.
Jhai poured his juice into a glass, put the container back into the refrigerator, and then closed the door. Taking his juice into the living room and sipping slowly, his eyes looked for Sunnie.... and didn't find him.
Jhai put his juice down on the coffee table, suddenly worried. It wasn't like Sunnie not to be there when Jhai came home. Reaching for the vid phone, Jhai was ready to call and reassure himself that everything was all right. After the incident with Rohan, they had both been worried that some of his henchmen might try to exact revenge. Just the thought of people that despicable possibly getting hold of Sunnie, made Jhai tremble as he began to dial the number to the Legate's office.
Jhai paused on the last number. He thought that he had heard a sound. Hanging up the phone, he walked into the bedroom and found Sunnie where he least expected; curled up on the bed with a blue Afghan wrapped around him. Having come from a community with very strict customs, being in bed before it was actually time to sleep, was something that Sunnie had found almost impossible to do. A man from his world worked from sun up until sun down, and resting during that time, was part of that very long list of 'sins' that his people had tormented Sunnie with his entire young life. That Sunnie was in bed now, told Jhai that something was very wrong.
Jhai began to walk towards the bed anxiously, but then his foot kicked something on the carpeted floor. Bending to pick it up, Jhai saw that it was a small hand screen and that it was open to a mail program. Jhai didn't presume to read the message, but the origin of the message was printed large and clear; Geranto.
Jhai felt the sharp pain of sorrow. He could guess what was in that message and Sunnie's behavior was suddenly very understandable. He put the screen aside and went to sit on the bed beside Sunnie. He touched a hunched shoulder and heard Sunnie try to suppress a sniffle. His lover's face was hidden by the Afghan and Jhai knew that was on purpose.
"Sunnie," Jhai said softly. "Being a couple means that you don't have to bear things alone. I'm here for you. I can comfort you and help you, if you would like to confide in me. It isn't shameful to be sad... to cry when things hurt you. You shouldn't hide from me that you are unhappy about something."
There was a long pause, another sniffle, and then the Afghan lowered and Jhai saw Sunnie's tear blotched, angelic face. He was so beautiful, this young lover of his. A riot of mussed, gold curls framed his face and his golden eyes looked up at Jhai with a tear filled innocence that was tempered by an underlying glint of 'experience'. Sunnie had seen the harsh side of life, but he had still managed to hold on to his almost childlike personality. It's what Jhai loved about him the most and he hoped that Sunnie never lost it.
Sunnie wiped at his eyes with the Afghan and then said in a subdued voice, "I-I'm sorry. I know we were supposed to go out tonight-"
Jhai shook his head, "Don't worry about that. You're more important." He slipped off his shoes and then nudged Sunnie over. He climbed under the Afghan with him and then wrapped it about them both. Facing his lover he said, "Sunnie, I can see that you are very upset. Please talk to me, love."
Sunnie suddenly buried himself against Jhai's chest, clutching at the material of Jhai's shirt. "I love you!" he blurted as if he needed to confirm it and tell the world where he stood.
"And I love you," Jhai told him and kissed the top of his gold head. "Nothing will ever change that."
"It isn't wrong!" Sunnie continued.
"No, it is not!" Jhai replied emphatically.
"Not a sin," Sunnie whispered now.
"No, not a sin," Jhai assured him. "Love is not a sin."
"Make love to me," Sunnie begged, needing that physical confirmation.
Jhai held back, trying to understand Sunnie's mood, trying to be certain it was really what Sunnie needed. At last, he replied breathily, "I will make you sing with my love for you," and began unbuttoning his shirt.
Sunnie was shy and submissive in many ways, but not when it came to making love. It never ceased to amaze Jhai when his young lover took control and showed him the heights of physical delight. He knew it had to do, once again, with an upbringing that had taught Sunnie that a man did not submit himself in the bedroom like a woman. Though Sunnie had given up many of the strict customs and laws of his people, making love to a man being one of their highest sins, he couldn't put aside so easily the teachings that had become a part of his sense of pride and worth. Jhai didn't have any such hangups and he didn't mind taking the submissive role, especially when Sunnie was so attentive and eager to please Jhai.
Sunnie finished unbuttoning Jhai's shirt and he peeled it back almost reverently, kissing the mahogany skin of his lover along his neck and nuzzling him just under his diamond pierced ear. Jhai couldn't help groaning or having the erection that suddenly sprung between them. Sunnie freed it from his pants and stroked that hard length while his mouth continued a trail of fiery kisses down Jhai's chest to the tribal symbol done boldly in red there; the name of his clan. Sunnie rubbed his cheek against it and, for some reason, that small gesture was enough to make Jhai even more excited. It seemed like an acknowledgement of who he was, and acceptance, and a deep intimacy all rolled into one.
Sunnie unbuckled Jhai's pants and pushed them down. Jhai helped by kicking them off the rest of the way. Bare to his lover, his long, lithe body sprinkled with training scars, from his days as a warrior, and other tribal tattoos, Jhai had never considered himself beautiful. Sunnie made him feel that way. Hands smoothing over him, eyes drinking him in with love and an almost worshipful need, lips kissing tenderly, and the look on Sunnie's face, told Jhai that he was all that Sunnie wanted.
Sunnie was wearing a simple pair of stretch shorts and an oversized shirt. Jhai helped him remove them and found Sunnie eager and hard. Pale flesh against Mahogany. It was erotic simply watching their skin slide against each other. Warmth against warmth, silky chocolate and cream, both of them soon wanted more.
Sunnie moved first, rolling Jhai onto his back and smiling sweetly at him, his curls hanging like spun gold in his handsome face and his amber eyes twinkling as if all sorrow had left him. He moved down Jhai's body, slid warm hands under his ass and squeezed and kneaded there as his mouth made a tight, moist sheathe and engulfed Jhai's erection.
Jhai gasped and clutched at the blankets, his mind short circuiting as pleasure sang through everyone of his nerves. As Sunnie began an up and down rhythm, his tongue teasing the head of Jhai's erection on every upstroke, Jhai arched and writhed, groaning and trying with all of his might not to come at once.
Not wanting it to be all one sided, and wanting to enjoy Sunnie as much as Sunnie was enjoying him, Jhai turned and positioned himself so that he could tease Sunnie's erection with his own mouth. Sunnie gasped and his hips made short, thrusting motions as if he couldn't help himself. Jhai kept rhythm with him, loving the taste of his lover and enjoying giving Sunnie so much pleasure.
"I need you," Sunnie said breathlessly as he released Jhai's erection from his mouth.
Jhai knew what that 'need' was and he reached to the bed side table and opened a drawer. He found a small container of lubricant and handed it to Sunnie. He gave Sunnie a deep kiss as their hands met. "I want you, love," he assured Sunnie.
Sunnie prepared them both, carefully and slowly, his every movement speaking to Jhai. It wasn't just sex, his gentle hands said, he was making love to Jhai. Jhai smiled softly as they positioned themselves. He was given a passionate kiss and then Sunnie carefully entered him.
Instinct and desire took over after that. They couldn't keep from losing themselves in the sensations, both of them moaning and striving to reach that pinnacle of pleasure. Sunnie thrust and Jhai rose to meet him, the feeling of his lover inside of him driving him wild with passion. He urged Sunnie onwards to even more frantic motions with his words and clutching hands. Sunnie couldn't help complying, raining kisses on Jhai's face and devouring his lips with his own. When they both reached orgasm, they cried out and pulled each other into a tight embrace, still moving against each other, still wanting to prolong that intense love making as long as possible. When their bodies couldn't sustain it any longer, they curled against each other and waited for their hearts to stop pounding.
"You are my life," Jhai breathed in Sunnie's ear when he had calmed somewhat.
"I don't have a life without you in it," Sunnie replied just as heartfelt.
"Then don't shut me out," Jhai begged. "Tell me what happened today. Tell me why you are so sad."
Sunnie lost some of his languid glow, pain filling his eyes. It took him a long moment to speak, as if he were bringing it up from his soul, but then he admitted, "I wrote a letter home... to Geranto... to my brother Jhas. I..." He faltered and Jhai kissed him and caressed his cheek. Sunnie seemed to draw strength from that and he continued, "I tried to explain about us, about how I felt, about how I thought that God accepted what I was because he had made me like this..." Sunnie swallowed audibly, close to tears again. "He sent me a letter back. You can... You can read it, if you want to."
Jhai rose and walked over to where he had placed the small palm screen. He read the message without surprise. 'There is no Sunnie of Truheart clan.' That and nothing more. It wasn't even signed. As Jhai put the screen aside again, he felt close to tears himself. He climbed back into bed and pulled Sunnie into his arms. He held his lover tightly. "Oh, my love! I am so sorry!" he said. "They are ignorant fools. They don't deserve you!"
Sunnie looked up into Jhai's eyes and his heart was there for Jhai to see. "It made me sad, but... that was because I love my brother and my family. I miss them. It didn't make me sad because I believed him. When I am with you, I can feel such happiness, such love... I will never again believe that this can be wrong. What we have is beautiful."
Jhai smiled at Sunnie. "Yes, beautiful," he breathed and held Sunnie close to his heart. "Perhaps one day, they'll see that too."
The end. ^_^
I may write some more fics if everyone wants to read them. You're welcome
