"Do what?" Duo demanded, frozen in the act of tightening his Preventer tie. He glared in exasperation in the next moment and then turned to leave Heero's office. "I haven't even clocked in yet, Heero. Play weird boss man after I get my morning cup of coffee."
"That's right," Heero warned, as he sat forward in his leather chair behind his wide desk. "I am your boss. I gave you an order, Agent Maxwell. Follow it or-"
"Or what?" Duo retorted. He turned back around to face Heero, hands on hips. "I'd like you to try and explain my insubordination to Une. I'm sure she'd like to know that my 'superior officer' ordered me to bend over. Seems to me that's breaking some ancient, well established regs, Boss Heero Yuy!" He jutted his chin at Heero, purple eyes flashing with self righteous temper. "You think, just because you moved up a little level, that you can do what you want, order what you want? I'm here to tell you different!" He poked a finger at the air towards Heero."I'm here to say, 'no fucking way!' to people like you, who think they are God as soon as they get a tiny bit of power over the rest of us! I'm standing up to you! I'm going to make sure that you get nailed to the wall for this. Nobody else is going to get abused by your-"
"You can't, can you?" Heero wondered calmly.
Duo stopped ranting, his finger making a few more pokes in the air, before he let it drop. His jaw worked, his glare increased, and then he deflated all at once. "No... no, not really,"he replied with a grimace.
Heero sighed as he stood up and moved around his desk. Putting a gentle hand on Duo's shoulder, he said softly, "Go home, love. The doctor said that you twisted your back very badly in that last mission. You need to let it rest."
Duo looked embarrassed, and then uncomfortable, as he rubbed at the back of his neck. "It's boring at home."
"I know, but it's what you have to do," Heero insisted. He leaned to kiss Duo's cheek, but Duo turned his head to meet his lips with his own.
"Sorry," Duo said against Heero's lips and then pulled away as he moved towards the door. He paused with his hand on the knob. "We'll have to do this again,when I'm better" he said thoughtfully, and then admitted with a blush,"I kind of like boss man Yuy ordering me to bend over."
Heero waded up a paper and tossed it at Duo playfully. It hit him squarely in the shoulder and bounced off. "Pervert," Heero growled, but he was smiling.
