Fake
Coming Clean

Birthday request for Fake, Dee in trouble; no wimpy love scenes.

"Shut up, man!" The thug, hand shaking and drug glazed eyes wide and wild, leveled the gun at Dee's head. "I'm gonna kill you! You think you're gonna take me down?! I'm gonna mess you up and take you down, pig!"

"Actually, I'm a detective, not a pig," Dee replied weakly, green eyes on the trembling end of the gun. "I just investigate stuff."

"Well, investigate this, asshole!" The thug shouted as he grabbed his own crotch. "I told you to shut the fuck up!"

Dee strained against his own handcuffs. His wrists were locked to an overhead, rusted bar that was part of a falling down fire escape. Despite it's age, though, it was proof against his efforts to free himself. The alley they were in, between abandoned buildings, made rescue unlikely as well, and Dee didn't bother hoping for it. Having out distanced his partner, and his fellow agents, in pursuit of his suspect, he doubted they would be able to find him there.

"You wanna add murder to your rap sheet?" Dee asked levelly. "They already know you're doing and dealing drugs. I was just following you to confirm who your supplier was. Do you want to serve five to ten or twenty to life?"

The fist that slammed into his gut wasn't a surprise. Dee bowed with the pain and choked for air. At least the thug hadn't shot him, he thought, which meant that he might be getting through the haze. He might yet manage to get out of his predicament with just some serious bruises rather than a bullet to the head.

"You know what it's like in prison?" Dee continued in a breathless wheeze. "You're pretty. They'll trade you around for smokes. You'll get years of being with real close friends, if you know what I mean?"

"Shut up!" the man raged and kicked Dee. Dee twisted and it didn't quite connect solidly, but it still hurt. He panted and blinked as the pain blossomed on his thigh.

The man stuck his gun in his waistband, suddenly looking angry and determined. When he pulled out a knife, Dee wasn't surprised.

"How many years will I get for cutting off your dick, pig?" The man snarled and reached out to try to rip Dee's pants down.

"Oh, at least ten, but only the parts of you that I leave behind after I get loose from here, " Dee replied, going white as he began to fight the man and his handcuffs ineffectually.

"Oh, you ain't gettin' loose, pig," the man grinned evilly as he broke the zipper on Dee's pants with a hard yank. He froze when the barrel of a police revolver touched his forehead.

"I'm only allowed to do that," Ryo bit out. "Drop your weapon." He reached around the man and relieved him of his gun as the thug dropped his knife from a shaking hand.

"Thank you, God!" Dee exclaimed in relief. "That asshole was about to make me part with a very dear friend of mine."

"Minetti!" Ryo shouted to one of two other officers behind him. "Take him and book him."

Ryo shoved the thug into the man's arms and the two officers dragged him out of the alley. Ryo turned to Dee, then, dropping his tough cop attitude and looking suddenly concerned.

"Are you all right, Dee?" Ryo asked anxiously as he reached up to unlock the handcuffs.

As one of his wrists came free, Dee grabbed Ryo by the back of the neck and pulled him in for a fierce kiss. He rolled one eye to make sure that they were really alone, and then deepened the kiss when he saw the empty alleyway behind Ryo.

"Mphf, Dee!" Ryo managed nervously, "Not here!"

"Gotta thank my rescuer," Dee told him. When Ryo managed to free his other wrist, he brought both of his hands up and trapped Ryo's face between them. His tongue delved into Ryo's mouth and Dee felt intense satisfaction when Ryo melted into the kiss. He finally ended it reluctantly and then caressed Ryo's cheek with a thumb as he said, "Later, I'm really gonna show you my appreciation."

Ryo took a deep breath and then he was shoving Dee back and saying angrily, "You could have been killed! Why did you run ahead like that? What were you thinking? You weren't thinking, as usual!"

Dee scowled. "He was getting away!" he shouted back. "I had to stop him."

"I stopped him! Not you!" Ryo reminded him sharply. That chilled them both as they realized, at the same time, just how close Dee had been to being killed.

"Yeah," Dee breathed. He looked down, rubbed the back of his neck in both trepidation and embarrassment, and then looked up at Ryo from under his fall of dark hair. "You're really something, you know that?" When Ryo looked puzzled, Dee explained, "I used to think you were... well, I just didn't think you could cut it out here in the mean streets."

"Did you think that five minutes ago?" Ryo wondered angrily.

Dee felt a blush. "Yeah," he admitted.

"So, instead of saying, 'I was wrong, Ryo.', you decided to show me you're 'the man' by kissing me and wanting..." Ryo stopped and looked down the alley, as if afraid the officers might come back. "You're such a jerk, sometimes, Dee. I don't know why I-"

" 'Cuz you love me?" Dee ventured with a small, hesitant smile.

Ryo made an exasperated sound as he holstered his gun and glared at Dee. "Yes, I do," he replied, "But, just once, stop being a jerk and say something honestly."

Dee swallowed and then replied, "Okay... so... good job, Ryo. Thanks... for saving me."

Ryo rolled his eyes. "You sound like it's killing you."

Dee shrugged and jammed his hands into his pockets. "I just don't like... having my ass saved, is all."

"Come on, " Ryo ground out as he reached out and tugged on Dee's collar. "I suppose that's the best I'm going to get for now. Pull up your pants and let's get back to work."

Dee nodded as he pulled up his pants and belted them, fingering the torn zipper ruefully. Ryo's finger was suddenly there, running along the broken zipper. Dee looked up, startled, and saw Ryo looking down at the gap in his pants that showed part of his briefs.

"You can still thank me," Ryo said, cleared his throat and then added, "Tonight, of course."

Dee grinned. "I'll make it a very big thank you."

THE END
